Products the bd team tested (and loved) this week.

Manicare

When this new product landed on my desk, I immediately thought that the disposable brushes would be great for make-up artists. Besides the hygienic aspect, the pack contains 20 brushes with four different styles, each designed to give a specific look. The blue brushes offer extra volume by coating more product on the lashes, the purple brushes have a small head making them perfect for getting into the corner of the eye and applying mascara to the bottom lashes (something I love, but always find a smudgy exercise when I do it with a bigger brush), the red brushes have curved heads which encourage the lashes to curl, and the orange ones are designed to create longer looking lashes.

For girls who only have their own make-up to do, I've found the disposable brushes have been great replacements for mascara wands that are getting a bit caked in product and not as effective, and also for using mascara tubes you've banished to the back of the cupboard because the brush it came with isn't right for you. - Michelle

Dior Vernis nail lacquer in Lucky

I love a bright polish, so when this latest shade from the Dior Vernis collection landed at bd HQ, I jumped at the chance to try it out. Putting the colour aside (which is amazing, mind you), the application of this polish is too easy. The thick, easy-to-use brush helps you keep the polish on your nails rather than fingers (never an easy task when your hands are about as steady as the Costa Concordia), and means that on some fingers, you can cover the whole nail with just one swipe. I’ll be reapplying this one in the coming months for sure. - Lucy

Rimmel London

At first this mascara freaked me out a little as its brush is massive and looks as though it would create a very heavy application that could clump. But boy, was I wrong! Because of the large brush head, I was able to coat and extend my lashes perfectly with one stroke. The formula did not leave behind any clumps or mess and it added a deep black colouring to my to give that false lash” effect. The perfect night out mascara. Deceivingly genius! – Liz

Revlon

Already a huge fan of the Revlon Age Defying Cream Make-up, I was pretty keen to try out its latest member to the family - the powder. I’m all for multi-functional beauty products, so I love a powder that offers both anti-ageing skincare benefits whilst providing the perfect cover. Another reason that I’m a convert for the products in this range are they offer a luminous finish that gives skin a pretty summer glow. What’s more, it leaves your face feeling as soft as a Kleenex tissue. I’ll be adding this one on the shelf beside the Cream Make-up. – Yelena.

I love... Strawberries & Milkshake Moisturising Body Lotion

This deliciously scented body moisturiser smells exactly as the name suggests – it’s young, fun and fruity. Lathering it onto your body, you can’t help but smile and think of childhood memories. The packaging is cute and convenient with its easy to use pump function. The consistency is thick enough to make skin feel nourished, yet light enough to absorb easily into the skin. The scent is so yummy that you almost have to stop yourself from having a little taste. – Bree
