BD reported back in February that MECCA was set to open the largest beauty retail outlet in the southern hemisphere, slated for the second half of 2020. And well, you guessed it, the time has come.
The store will become MECCA's flagship, opening up shop in the historic Gowings building in Sydney’s CBD.
It will cover 1800 square metres and four levels of the heritage-listed landmark, in the space that previously housed Topshop. It’s 20 times larger than the brand’s first store in Melbourne, and more than double the size of the brand’s next-biggest store, at Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne. AKA this is going to be a beauty lovers, heaven.
Combining elements of both MECCA's Cosmetica and Maxima portfolios, the store will carry all 200-plus of the retailer’s existing brands, as well as the newly announced additions of goop Beauty, Kylie Skin and Tom Ford.
The MECCA flagship store opens on November 27, 2020.
