BB cream is popular for a reason: it offers consumers numerous benefits in one application - and who doesn’t love a multi-tasker? In 2014, many brands released beauty balms, and the Chi Chi was (and still is) a firm favourite in the BD office. It also won over BD’s Expert Panel - with 100 per cent of triallers noticing a visible difference in the look and feel of their skin.
60 per cent of testers wore the BB cream on its own. The Beauty and Lifestyle Hunter’s Karina Nyholm-Hunter said it left her with a “more even skin tone, with a beautiful, dewy look and a nice glow.” The other 40 per cent used the product underneath make-up, and vlogger Lilian Tahmasian said it worked really well: “my foundation sat properly onto my skin and my skin was much smoother.”
The entire Expert Panel said the product was easy to apply, confirming that it blended easily and concealed imperfections. 100 per cent said the BB cream hydrated their skin, and 80 per cent noticed their skin looked more youthful upon application. A further 90 per cent liked the texture of the product, and 70 per cent felt the product helped to protect against ageing, which could have something to do with its SPF30+ rating.
“This is the first BB cream with a high-strength SPF I have used that sat lightly on my skin,” says An Australian Wintour’s Kristy Charleson. “Others tend to be a little heavy. You go Chi Chi!”
Of the various beauties who trialled the product, 70 per cent agreed the Chi Chi BB Cream is one of the best in the BB category. In addition, 90 per cent said they would use the product again, and 90 per cent said they would recommend it to their readers.
