bdTrial: What’s new in beauty land

The BD team review the latest products to land in the beauty cupboard.

Even though my outrageous earrings may often scream a ‘more is more’ mantra, my thoughts on make-up are often the opposite. Which is why I am enamoured with the new M.A.C Lightful Foundation. Dewy, sun-safe and light as air, the dreamy formula glides onto skin for the subtle coverage of skin and a juicy glow. Not only is the foundation itself the perfect consistency for everyday wear, but housed in a cushion compact it can be thrown into one of my many bags for (yet another) day on the go. - Sarah

As you get older, the words "plump skin" and "more youthful appearance" really start to hold a lot of appeal. With the Nutrimetics Ultra Care+ Aqua Supply Booster promising to do both, I was keen to try out this recently launched product. Infused with a hydrating complex to combat water loss and skin ageing, the skin booster forms a protective film to ensure active ingredients are being delivered straight to the skin to boost hydration. While I've only just started using this product, I already feel like my skin is drinking up the amino acids. Watch out plumped up, younger-looking future me! - Yelena

As a huge fan of the original L'Eau d'Issey, I knew I was going to love the new L'Eau d'Issey Pure Eau de Parfum. This crisp fragrance transports me to a warm and summery destination far, far away from Sydney. Picture this: relaxing pool-side with a cocktail in hand in Mykonos – bliss! Featuring top notes of ambergris and maritima; heart notes of lily of the valley and jasmine rose; and base notes of cashmeran, this is a beautiful fragrance to wear as the mercury starts to rise. - Sophia

It’s like the Tom Ford perfumery mixed up every single thing that favours my nostrils, bottled it up, and personally delivered it to me as my own. It’s that ‘me’ and it’s that good. The fact that they popped it into a rose gold bottle is just the icing on an already perfect cake. The bottom notes of patchouli envelop you in a whimsical blend of sexiness while the top cypress notes keep it fresh. The exotic blend is like no other fragrance, and since starting to wear it, not one person hasn’t stopped to take a whiff of me while offering a bunch of compliments. - Kelly

With oily, acne-prone skin, I’m a sucker for an oil-free, lightweight moisturiser as I really don’t need to add any more oil to this already too-slick complexion. philosophy take a deep breath oil free oxygenating gel cream instantly melted into my skin, hydrating it without leaving a sticky, greasy residue that many moisturisers often do. It has a delicious subtle floral fragrance that makes me want to rub it over my whole body. - Caitlin
