bhave treatment put through its paces

After hearing lots of talk in the industry recently - by the likes of Zoe Foster Blake, Natalie Babic, Nikki Parkinson, no less - about the virtues of bhave’s smoothe therapy treatment, I decided it needed to be put to the test.

Unlike other chemical straighteners that restructure hair and create poker-straight strands, the bhave smoothe therapy treatment works to enhance body and manageability while reducing frizz and rejuvenating, restoring and protecting locks.

Free from chemical nasties and enriched with keratin, argan oil, collagen and silk amino acids, the treatment also features innovative amino cell rebuild technology to improve the quality of each strand. But does it actually make a difference and is it the ‘life-changer’ people say it is?

To see if bhave’s magic really worked a charm, the smoothe therapy treatment was applied to BD national advertising manager Natalie Thom’s dark, short, curly hair and to my long, blonde locks. Despite the very different hair types, bhave smoothe therapy managed to come up trumps both times.

“For anyone who has curly or frizz-prone hair, you need to get yourself to the salon pronto to try this treatment as I literally cannot sing its praises high enough. My very curly strands turned into relaxed beach waves with no product, and if I did happen to want to rock poker-straight hair, I only needed to put aside 15 minutes for blow-drying (as opposed to 40). Three months later, the curl is back but the frizz has reduced and blow-dries are still a cinch. It’s one of those treatments that I’ll go back for again and again - a total game-changer!” says Thom.

And I tend to agree. While my hair is normally a dry, unruly mess, the smoothe treatment has sorted it right out. While it is said to work best with heat-styling tools, I have found that it sits perfectly for days if I just wash and wear. No longer am I the girl staring wistfully at those not needing to spend hours styling their locks. I am that girl.
