Indie skincare brand, Youth to the People, has received a minority investment from Sandbridge Capital and Hourglass Cosmetics founder Carisa Janes.
The investment will be used to support the brand's growth by increasing marketing efforts, continuing product innovation and deepening its existing distribution relationships, according to WWD.
The brand has successfully tapped into the wellness trend, focusing on clean ingredients and vegan formulations with sustainable packaging – all of which likely attributes to its commercial success in US stockists like Free People and Anthropologie. In Australia, it's currently available in Sephora.
New investor and Hourglass founder Clare Janes said in a statement: "Youth to the People is a next-generation, purpose-driven brand. [Founders] Greg and Joe’s product expertise, creative intuition and meticulous eye for detail have created a unique and approachable brand with a focus on inclusivity.”
Founded in 2015 by cousins Joe Cloyes and Greg Gonzalez, Youth to the People was predicted to triple its sales in 2018, although the brand is yet to release any official sales figures.
