Facebook has announced the launch of a new companion app for Instagram users called Threads.
The messaging service, that adopts many features of rival, Snapchat, has been designed for sharing content with close friends in a dedicated private space. As a standalone app, users will be able to share camera-first content such as images, videos, stories and statuses with their Instagram close friends list. Adding people to this list will reportedly provide Facebook with critical data about who is most important to each user.
Threads has already begun rolling out globally on iOS and Android. Find out more here.
