Dior has provided media with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the brand’s prêt-a-porter SS13 couture show, and the making of their latest Diorshow ad campaign starring Natalie Portman.
The prêt-a-porter show was creative director Raf Simon’s first for the luxury brand. To complement his theme of liberation, make-up for the show was a vibrant ode to colour, created by Tyen (creative director of Dior Makeup) and realised by Pat McGrath. Featuring heavy eye make-up that was described by McGrath as a techno butterfly look”, the upper eyelid was coated in vivid colours topped off with Swarovski crystals. The complexion, mouth and nails were kept natural to complement the bright eye make-up.
The Diorshow Overcurl mascara ad campaign, starring actress and brand ambassador Natalie Portman, featured a make-up look created by Dior international make-up artist Yadim. It showcases the mascara’s unique wave curl” brush that is modelled on lash and hair-curling accessories.
Coinciding with the Overcurl launch, the brand is unveiling their new eyeshadow compacts, Diorshow Mono, which were used in both Portman’s ad campaign and the prêt-a-porter show.
Diorshow Overcurl and Mono eyeshadows, along with the new Diorshow Art Pen eyeliner and Diorshow Flash Corrector tough-up pen and make-up corrector, all launch in Australia on January 28.
