The latest Roy Morgan readership statistics are in, and it looks like Pacific Magazines is the big winner due to its portfolio of health and lifestyle titles.
The company’s magazines Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Prevention and Diabetic Living sold nearly 3 million copies in the 12 months to June 2012.
We are witnessing a cultural shift in Australia where the focus is moving from pure health to a broader ambition for better quality of life,” says Healthy Lifestyle titles publisher Karen Deveson. Pacific Magazines continues to be at the forefront of every health trend and our deep consumer understanding is reflected in these impressive results.”
The publishing house performed well over a number of categories, publishing the highest selling magazines for fashion (marie claire), tween girls (Total Girl), tween boys (K-Zone), celebrity weekly (Who), home and lifestyle (Better Homes and Gardens), real life (That’s Life) and men’s lifestyle (Men’s Health).
The absolute performance of the Australian magazine market is strong, yet this continues to be overlooked,” says Pacific Magazines CEO Nick Chan. Magazines have an enduring affinity with consumers, especially women – who play a key and increasing role in nearly all purchasing decisions.”
Our portfolio approach – strong and well differentiated brands in key categories – continues to pay dividends. These categories have performed very well.”
