Following recent news that Cleo and Dolly were set to merge staff, Gyan Yankovich has been announced as the new beauty editor for the Cleo/Dolly team.
Yankovich will continue in her role as Dolly beauty writer until December 2 and says, I couldn’t be more excited about this next step in my career, working across two of Australia’s most iconic titles. This position allows me to remain working on Dolly – a brand I’ve fallen head over heels for – while also joining the masthead of another of my favourite magazines, Cleo.”
Cleo’s current beauty director Rachael Mannell decided to not go for the position as beauty editor. After 10 years at Cleo, Mannell has chosen to pursue other career opportunities that have been on the backburner for a while and is excited about her new adventure. Mannell will finish up at Cleo on Friday November 29th.
I’ve loved shaping and expanding Cleo’s beauty pages while overseeing the launch and content of Cleo’s Beauty Bites app, but I feel this change is such perfect timing for me as being involved with one magazine has meant I have never been able to work personally with many of the beauty brands I am passionate about. I am thrilled at the prospect of collaborating with people and brands I have formed strong relationships with over the years. From hosting events to brand endorsement, expert commentary to styling and other creative projects - the future is pretty,” says Mannell.
Bauer Media Group are also looking to appoint a beauty writer for the new Cleo and Dolly team, who will be working under Yankovich.
