elkie hair straightener
Nothing screams (literally) panic like two girls away for the weekend who've just discovered they've left their hair straightener at home. While the place my sister and I visited a few weeks ago was, let's say "light" on the shopping front, there was a Price Attack store just bursting with hair-saving goodness. The result was a shared purchase of the Elkie hair straightener. Apparently it's Price Attack's best-selling straightener and from my experience so far, it's a goodie! It heats up quickly and the plates smoothly glide over hair making it easy to curl, plus it came with a paddle brush (my fave). - Michelle
Mascara is one of the things I love to try out all the different ones. I guess this is because if you don’t like one, you can easily wipe off and start again. My three wishes when it comes to mascara are for my lashes to be as black and long as possible without going clumpy. I also want one that doesn’t end up half way down my face by the end of the day. After trying out multiple mascaras this year – my favourite by far is the Max Factor Falsh Lash Effect. It delivers a faultless application every time. What’s more - $1 from the sale of each product sold in Priceline will be donated to charity Look Good… Feel Better. Bonus! – Yelena
Sitting in front of a computer for the better part of five days of the week, I’ve got into the habit of putting on hand cream every time I sit back in my chair at times of writer’s block (so about 15 times a day, then). Such routine has turned me into somewhat of a hand cream connoisseur. And while I have my favourites (you’ll never see me dispose of a L’Occitane hand cream without first trying to jam my pinky finger in the top), every once in a while I’m wooed over by a new product, like The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream. There are two make-or-break factors of a hand cream for me – the scent, obviously is key. And the delicious rose fragrance of this one is feminine without being overpowering. I actually made a colleague sniff my hands afterwards. Secondly, if I can feel the cream on my hands more than 20 seconds after I’ve rubbed it in, it’s no good. I can’t handle the feeling of sticky hands. The Wild Rose Hand Cream absorbs almost instantly, so I can get back to typing as soon as the lightbulb moment occurs. Any minute now... – Lucy
I'm a time-saver. I do my make-up in the car on the way to work, fix my hair in cabs on the way to events and now I've discovered a treatment that I can whack on towel-dried hair and leave in to do its stuff. The best thing about Indola Innova Repair Capsules is that they come in little capsules you squeeze into the palm of your hand and run through the ends, so every time you're getting a measured amount of product. I'd heard that apricot kernel oil was great for dry hair and after using this for two weeks, I agree my hair's left feeling much softer. - Michelle
BronZinc will definitely be a staple in my beach bag this summer. I used this product over the weekend and after a four-hour stint at the beach, I was delighted to return home sunburn free with a glowing, even complexion. Winner! Not only had this product protected my face from the sun rays, the bronze tint had also camouflaged my skin’s imperfections. The zinc formula was easy to apply, non-greasy and perfectly suited my sensitive skin. – Bree
I love the pretty colours on the MUK hair packaging – it’s like a party in your bathroom! This week I decided to try out the Intense Muk range in blue. I am very particular about the shampoo and conditioner I use as my hair is quite dry and damaged from too many years of dyeing it blonde (I know I’m going to shock you all by revealing my hair is not naturally this blonde!) and too much time at the beach. Developed especially for hair like mine, this formula reduces hair breakage and increases elasticity, shine and manageability. That’s four big ticks in my book! - Yelena
