Following Monday’s announcement of the proposed merger between Cleo and Dolly staff, Bauer Media CEO Matthew Stanton has informed staff of more details surrounding the move.
Stanton has confirmed that Bauer Media will indeed go ahead with the proposed merger, with the creation of a new structure where a centralised team will be responsible for producing both magazines. Following consultation with staff, two additional roles have also been added to the structure.
For all employees impacted by [the] announcement, we have now commenced a transition process with a view that the implementation would largely be completed by the end of November, with flexibility where required,” Stanton revealed in a press statement.
This week the selection process also begins for appointing the new editor-in-chief. With much interest received already for this brand new role, there will be a thorough application process and interviews for this position.”
A memo to staff also cleared up a few reports, stating that the new team will be more than 50 per cent of the current staff, some team members will continue to work directly on the individual titles, bespoke Australian content will continue to underpin Dolly and Cleo's ethos and identity, the two magazines are not merging - just the staff, and an editor-in-chief has not yet been appointed.
