This morning saw all the winners of the 2014 Jasmine Awards announced at a special presentation at the Star Room, IMAX Theatre in Darling Harbour. The Jasmine Awards recognise journalistic excellence in the fields of literary and visual achievement for articles on the subject of fragrance.

Judges for this year’s Jasmine Awards included Esprit Magazine managing director Andrea Ferrari, APRN Regional Media contributing editor Helen Hawkes, David Jones general manager of beauty and cosmetics Sophie Kalofonos, Fragrances of the World general manager Margaret Khoury and Jan Logan Jewellery founder Jan Logan.

The event was MC’d by Paula Joye, who revealed the awards had received over 109 entrants from 34 print and online publications. The increase in number of entrants reflects the growth in the fragrance industry as a whole.

The awards were split into six categories, with the winner of each award category qualifying as a finalist for The Jasmine Award for Journalistic Excellence. Winners of the individual categories took home a trophy, $1000 cheque, and a bunch of flowers, while the winner of the Journalistic Excellence award received a return flight to Europe and accommodation near Grasse, France.

Taking out two of the award categories, the award for Journalistic Excellence went to Vogue beauty and health director Sigourney Cantelo.
