After announcing in April last year that it was working on an app that would allow users to easily identify the fashion label featured in captured images, Shazam has been beaten to the punch by fashion app Trendabl.
Launching its new find it” option, consumers can now easily track down celebrity or street style fashion items from their phones thanks to Trendabl. When a user clicks on the find it” button on an image displayed in their Trendabl feed, they are shown the exact item or a selection of similar designs. The app then directs the user to the retailer’s online store.
Technology is enabling retailing to be done in very different ways to what we’re used to,” Retail Doctor Group director Brian Walker told SmartCompany.
This new function is in line with the latest trends we’ve identified – everything is in real time with flash accessibility and the power of social proof [influence]. The power of social proof is seen in the ability of Trendabl users to tell others about the clothes they like, sharing the photos to other social networks and integrating with the broader social network.”
