Waiting for hours to get that great make-up shot could be a thing of the past, with a new technology literally changing the face of beauty. Real-time face tracking and projection mapping technology has answered every beauty writers dream.
The concept of electronic make-up is one that utilises technology to create facial transformations. Computer generated imaging has come a long way, and producer and technical director Nobumichi Asai has taken it a step further by creating Omote, a system that combines motion and projection technology to project make-up onto a live model’s face.
The accuracy of the technology shows facial and make-up transformations on a model through computer-generated imaging. Asai worked with computer generated imaging experts, graphic designers, and make-up artists to create a video that outlines the way Omote works.
