Aussie women urged to step up

If you think a lot of celebrities are seriously lacking when it comes to being positive role models to the young and impressable, now’s your chance to step in and make a difference.

A supporter of the Life Changing Experiences Foundation (LCEF) and its SISTER2sister program since 2009, NIVEA is asking Australian women to take part in the 2015 mentoring program by becoming a ‘big sister’ to young and disadvantaged teenage girls.

“Each year, we work with young Australian women who are assigned a 'big sister' to act as a mentor and help provide guidance for youth who have been missing the presence of a positive role model in their lives. We are grateful to have a brand such as NIVEA behind the program who provide support to us over and above financial commitment,” says founder Jessica Brown.

NIVEA managing director and charity board member Clynton Bartholomeusz adds: “NIVEA as a brand stands for care which is why we chose to work with the SISTER2sister program and help assist in the area of empowerment for young Australian women.

“For a brand like NIVEA, we feel it is important to commit to a level of meaningful social responsibility – in fact it is demanded by staff and consumers alike. We are extremely proud to get behind this program and through consumer support and the commitment of our passionate staff, we hope to make a real difference.”

Applications for ‘big sisters’ opened on December 1. To apply for the program, head to www.lifechangingexperiences.org.
