Who: Jayson Brunsdon

When: 2 pm, April 14. The Runway, Carriageworks.

Hair: Richard Kavanagh for Redken

Hair style: "Jayson's collection is called 'A Rose is a Rose', so the clothes are inspired by the juxtaposition that is a rose - so it's thorny and spiky but beautiful and floral. There's a hint of the 50s in the collection, but Jayson's a 90s boy at heart, so there's always that touch of early 90s super cool supermodel. We started with that as a reference point - getting that very dirty, gritty, lived-in 90s feeling, almost as if she's been at the beach for a week and hasn't washed her hair and she's just pulled it back and cinched it off her face. That effortless cool girl. We used Rootful, Cerafill Dense Effects, and Guts spray foam mousse, and then we've blasted that dry with a hot hairdryer so it's 100 per cent dry, which gives it that gritty, dirty look. The girl's hair is then being swept back off the face and folded and pinned into a D.A. in the middle of the back of the head with the bottom of the hair left out. You cinch it together really tight and then pin it snugly in place," says Richard Kavanagh.

Make-up: Nicole Thompson for M.A.C

Make-up style: "What we're doing today is creating wine-stained lips. The lips are wine-coloured in a deep burgundy and very stained, very lived-in. We're going to put this on and we're then not going to touch it up because we want it to move around - the lip can look a bit rebellious. On the skin, it's all about skincare first - so we spent a lot of time on that. We used concealer where needed - we didn't want the skin to look heavy. On the lip we've used Vino Lip Pencil and we've drawn that on quite lightly and given it a stain. With the lips, we're using the soft eye brush in #219 to smudge out the colour so you can still see the skin coming through on the lips. With the brows, we're using colder-toned shadows, adding the colour to the base of the brow and then brushing it up to create a lower brow that gives toughness. Around the eyes, we're giving a sleeky, pink sore eye look but in a glamourous way - very smudgy and following the natural line of the eye. This gives a warm shade around the eye but it's not really an eye make-up, it's more like she's just a bit tired," says Nicole Thompson.

Nail look: "For the Jayson Brunsdon show today, he wanted to create an avante garde black matte finish. We've used Black Pool in our Vinylux Polish range and we've mattified it down. We're going to do a short nail shape which is square with the corners rounded off," says Danelle Barr.
