Following news New Idea editor-in-chief Kim Wilson has decided not to return to the magazine following her maternity leave, Pacific Magazines is thrilled to announce Louisa Hatfield will be stepping into the role permanently, effective immediately.
Hatfield has been acting in the position for the past 12 months, with previous experience as editor-in-chief at Woman’s Day, TV Week, Take 5 and NW. She has also worked for The Sydney Morning Herald and Sunday Magazine, and been the executive producer on Nine’s Mornings program. Wilson was at the helm of New Idea for five years.
“Kim was a fantastic driving force on New Idea, giving Australia’s most-loved magazine new energy and relevance to the readers. We wish her well for the next stage of her career,” says Pacific Magazines group publisher weekly titles Fiona Legdin.
“Louisa has had a fantastic career at the helm of some of the country’s best-selling brands, both in print and on TV. This is a time of exciting change in our industry and I’m delighted that someone with her expertise, energy and experience will continue to steer the New Idea brand into the future.”
