Her face is almost as familiar with the magazine as the masthead, but Cosmopolitan beauty director Leigh Campbell is hanging up her heels at the title to take up the position of lifestyle editor at The Huffington Post. Launching in Australia next month, Campbell will be heading up the site’s lifestyle content alongside associate lifestyle editor Emily Blatchford.
The move sees former OK! and NW beauty journalist Sarah Macrae return to Australia to step into the role of beauty editor at Cosmopolitan. In addition, Alexis Teasdale will be overseeing the entire beauty and lifestyle department, as well as continuing in the managing editor role on Cosmo Bride.
“I’ve adored my time at Cosmopolitan, and now I’m very inspired to submerge myself in the world of digital at The Huffington Post. Those who have read Thrive will understand the appeal. I’m excited to head up their lifestyle offering; covering fashion, beauty, wellness, travel, home, and food,” says Campbell.
Campbell’s appointment comes in line with a hiring blitz at The Huffington Post, with former News Corp Australia opinion editor Tory Maguire appointed editor-in-chief and former Allure Media CEO Chris Janz in charge of the commercial operations.
The hiring doesn’t stop there, with IF magazine’s Blatchford appointed as associate lifestyle editor, former News Corp property editor Chris Harrison as blog editor, Bauer’s Amie Rigas as associate producer, and MamaMia’s Emily Verdouw as associate video editor.
