Farmers has today announced it will no longer be stocking Napoleon Perdis cosmetics. While the department store was the brand’s exclusive stockist in New Zealand, a Napoleon Perdis spokesman has told Stuff the brand is unlikely to be pulled out of the country.
The brand will be changing its distributor and is currently in negotiations with a possible new retailer. "While this is going through the process of being sorted, products will still be available online in New Zealand," the spokesman reveals.
When asked if the brand will be sold in the new David Jones store opening in Wellington next year, he said: "It might be".
Farmers beauty brand manager Rachel Burkhardt said it was a joint decision between the two companies. “Farmers’ strategy was to offer the best global brands and Napoleon Perdis was more focused on the Australian market,” says Burkhardt.
Farmers has fast become the go-to destination for cosmetics, with many luxe brands on its shelves. MAC and Bobbi Brown have just been added to the line-up at Queensgate shopping centre.
