marie claire launches new e-commerce site

Last year we saw marie claire introduce its sampling box offering The Parcel, now the magazine is diversifying once more with the launch of its e-commerce site StyledBy marie claire.

Described as a "curated, interactive personal shopping website, StyledBy marie claire combines an e-commerce platform with the latest fashion news and expert styling advice."

An online extension of marie claire Australia, the site provides curated fashion content from the magazine's editors and guest stylists that is instantly shoppable. Working with an affiliate model, the site directs users to the online stores of over 400 partner retailers.

Stylists on the site include the magazine's editor Nicky Briger, fashion director Jana Pokorny, fashion and news editor Bree McDonald, fashion editor-at-large Clare Press, market editor Tara Morris, publisher Jackie Frank, and fashion office co-ordinator Hayley O'Neill, as well as guest stylist Nicky Zimmermann. Users are able to shop the stylists' styles as well as ask them questions via the chat-with-a-stylist feature.

“It's another brand extension, it's a further footprint, because our whole idea at Pacific Magazines is about putting the customer first. We are audience-centric rather than print-centric and whatever it is our audience wants, that's where we need to play. It's all about closing that loop from inspiration to customisation and finally purchase,” Frank tells AdNews.
