A new women’s platform lands in Australia

In our day and age, women are taking on increasingly multi-faceted roles to juggle the pressures of family and career at once. It’s the balance celebrated by former Olympian Elka Whalan who has just launched women’s platform QueenHood.

The former swimmer, mother, and media personality hopes to provide an outlet for women all around Australia to find solace, inspiration and advice on QueenHood. The lifestyle website and online forum will feature short articles written by both everyday women, as well as media personalities. Content will focus on the categories of The Mum (motherhood), Work It (careers), She’s Got That Look (style), and Bust a Move (health and wellness).

Whalan tells B&T of her new venture: “I want QueenHood to be a place where all Australian women can enjoy this kind of wisdom. I feel passionately that it’s time we stop comparing, share more knowledge, lift one-another up and practice more self-care and that’s what QueenHood is about, moving forward in a positive way together and stronger. I look forward to sharing positive articles, clips and events, and content that is both intimate and entertaining.”

The platform will also host regular events for its fan base – the first will be focused on the working wonder woman. The sold-out event will be held on Tuesday September 27 in Paddington, with speakers including media personality Jessica Rowe, Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew and Thrive PR founder Leilani Abels.
