Unless an in-house meeting is organised, insight into the working environments of a beauty and media company is not often showcased. Which is why BEAUTYDIRECTORY were thrilled to be shown inside the doors of L'Oréal Australia's recently renovated headquarters. So much so that we had to share the images in the above gallery.
Last December saw the completion on the redesign of L'Oréal Australia's headquarters in Melbourne. Designed by Travis Walton Architecture, a key focus of the revamp was integrating the digital age and connectivity while remaining accessible and harmonious for all.
Fundamental design principles include natural finishes, textured surfaces, green-wall initiatives and straight lines, while the ceiling's exposed cavity gives the space an industrial edge.
“We are moving towards all becoming digital nomads, with more and more people
having no fixed workspaces. So our focus was to create multiple work zones which host live digital content, strengthening the brand relationship with staff and customers in both online and real life," says architect Travis Walton.
The foyer features eye-catching mirrored bronze bevelled panelling, smooth marble floors, and sleek furnishings, while at the front, a curved banquette features an integrated digital display. Beyond the foyer sits a stately boardroom framed by black steel floor-to-ceiling windows. Multi-purpose spaces offer numerous communal working locations.
A L'Oréal spokesperson explains the thinking behind the style: "The communal spaces have an abundance of natural light and are really stimulating for its inhabitants. This encourages greater collaboration and productivity in the workspace."
