The beauty blogging world is booming, with its stars now numbering in the thousands. Emerging from the growing industry is an Australian beauty lover who is breaking boundaries with content and culture thanks to her catering to Muslim women around the world. BD spoke to Zena Khatib about her plans for her blog below:
What inspired you to begin blogging/instagramming?
I was inspired by the ingenuity of many makeup artists and influencers. I decided blogging/instagramming [were the best platforms] to share my passion – they allow me to be as creative and do what I love to inspire others.
What is your point of difference?
We all have our own unique passion and talent, you are you and I am I.
Do you have any plans to start vlogging?
Yes, one day!
How do you feel about seeing greater representation of Muslim women like Nura Afia (who just became a COVERGIRL ambassador) in the mainstream media?
Just speechless, a history to be made. I am so proud of her big accomplishment, finally a Muslim hijabi to be represented and recognised. Her confidence truly inspired me, as being a beauty blogger and makeup artist myself I had the same insecurity, that my hijab will hold me back but seeing greater brands support diversity and equality definitely boosted my confidence and [passion to] continue to pursue my dreams.
