Six lip trends we're likely to see at Fashion Week

With the arrival of Fashion Week comes the inevitable speculation on what beauty trends will be seen on the catwalks this year. If New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks are anything to go by, there are some definitive looks that are likely to be picked up in Sydney this week.

All eyes will be on lips, and so far this year, shades have gone from barely there to dark as night. In order to emulate these looks, Burt's Bees new Tinted Lip Oils come in a range of colours from nudes and pinks, to crimsons and plums. For on-the-go media and models who are in need of a little lip therapy, the Tinted Lips Oils will also provide all day hydration while still lending a touch of on trend colour.

Here are BEAUTYDIRECTORY'S six Fashion Week lip trend predictions, along with Burt's Bees  correlating colour.

Trend 1: Blood red lips
Gothic looking blood red lips were out in force across catwalks this past February and combined with dark eyes and slicked back hair. A variation of this hue was seen at La Perla, Jill Stuart, Pamela Roland, Marc Jacobs and Anna Sui.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Oil equivalent: Crimson Breeze

Trend 2: Ruby-purple lips
Similar to the above but with a tad more dimension, deep purplish-red lips were featured with a ruby shade in the centre. Most prominent at Jill Stuart.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Oil equivalent: Misted Plum

Trend 3: Blurred lips
A Q-tip is needed for this look which involves applying a Merlot-like lip colour and dipping a cotton bud in makeup remover. The makeup artist then swipes off a layer of the lipstick from the centre of the lips for a blurred effect. Seen in all its glory at La Perla, Temperley London and Roland Mouret.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Oil equivalent: Rustling Rose (plus a Q-tip to swipe from the centre)

Trend 4: High shine
A healthy dose of gloss was layered on the lips of girls walking at Philip Plein (also on the eyelids to finish the look). What better than a Tinted Lip Oil to recreate the look.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Oil equivalent: Whispering Orchid (or any shade!)

Trend 5: Flushed lips
The youthful fairytale princess trend made it's way onto the autumn/winter catwalks this year. Think soft pink, shimmery rose shades on cheeks and lips that emulate a 'natural flush', as seen at Naeem Khan.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Oil equivalent: Showering Sunset

Trend 6: Nude lips
You wouldn't even know a lip colour had been used on many of the looks from Feb's shows. Barely there makeup vibes were seen at Victoria Beckham, Pringle of Scotland, Mary Katrantzou and Peter Pilotto among others.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Oil equivalent: Caramel Cloud
