If an artist is only as good as his tools, the BD team owes their beauty game to these products.

Mary Kay Skinvigorate™ Cleansing Brush – Bianca
What it is:  A two-speed power brush that massages while cleansing skin.
My experience: I have always been a bit skeptical about cleansing brushes but Mary Kay’s Skinvigorate has left me pleasantly surprised. It’s gentle on the skin and really provides a deep cleanse, especially in my T-Zone where I need it the most. My skin is left feeling soft, supple and glowing.

Remington Barber’s Best Hair Clipper – Matt
What it is: A stainless steel, lithium-powered and cordless hair clipper.
My experience: Having only used corded trimmers, the freedom of movement with this battery type makes any trimming job a lot easier! With 60 minutes run-time and easy to remove and clean blades, designed for both beard trimming and hair cutting, this device is top-notch and right on par with salon clippers. This kit also comes with a complete set of accessories and a tote bag to carry it all in – what more could you want?!

Mukti Organics Microneedle Dermal Roller – Michelle
What it is: A handheld micro-needle dermal roller device that allows for at-home skin needling.
My experience: It’s been years since I last used a dermal roller, but it’s more relevant for me to be trying out now, as ageing and pigmentation from two pregnancies have changed my complexion. The small needles create ‘micro channels’ in my skin’s surface, allowing for my skincare products to penetrate more easily. After a couple of weeks’ use, my complexion appears more refreshed than usual, and because needling encourages collagen and elastin production, I expect I’ll continue to see improvements to my skin tone.

Napoleon Perdis Pro Makeup Mixing Ring Palette – Tina
What it is: A make-up mixing palette that sits on your finger as a ring.
My experience: Prior to using this, I had not even considered using mixing palettes to mix my foundation or lip colour. Due to the lightweight ring design you can sit the palette on your finger while easily mixing and applying your ideal makeup shades.

Revlon Beauty Tools Professional Blending Brush – Caitlin
What it is: A blending brush with two interchangeable sponge tips.
My experience: Once you use a blending sponge, you can’t go back to using your hands or even a normal sponge - and once you use a blending sponge brush, you can’t go back to anything else. This applicator is a dream, the brush design means you don’t get any product on your fingers, and the interchangeable tips offer flawless application for both large surfaces and hard-to-reach areas.

Nude by Nature 18 BB Brush – Zoe
What it is: A makeup brush that offers a fast and effortless application of BB cream or liquid formulas.
My experience: I don’t have the most steady hand when it comes to makeup, so I usually end up using a beauty blender to fix my poor foundation application job. However, with this brush my liquid foundation went on smooth and even. The soft, dense high-quality synthetic bristles delivered flawless blending and even coverage; and I was left with a natural, luminous finish with half the steps!

Benefit Hoola Brush – Steph
What it is: A domed shaped powder brush designed for contouring and shaping the face.
My experience: Already a loyal lover of the Hoola Bronzer I was so excited to use the Hoola Brush which was designed specifically to ideally apply the iconic powder. I must say this is a match made in contouring heaven! Once I could get past how incredibly soft this brush is, I found it effortlessly applies powder and blends at the same time so sculpting and bronzing is made so easy and simple.

Lady Jayne TanglePro – Georgie
What it is: A hairbrush that uses flexi-guide technology for speedy, gentle detangling on wet or dry hair.
My experience: I can’t imagine using anything but a Tangle Teezer to brush my hair but when it gets damp I really struggle to keep hold of it! This version by Lady Jayne is the perfect solution to that. Exactly the same bristles, the same smooth glide through the hair but with that all important addition...a handle. I absolutely love it.

Eye of Horus Sharpener Square – Sam
What it is: A high-grade cosmetic sharpener used to sharpen, clean and maintain the integrity of makeup pencils.
My experience: I am always on the look-out for a good quality makeup pencil sharpener that doesn’t masacre my liners or leave shavings everywhere! This extremely functional, enclosed sharpener holds shavings with enough space to not need to empty it every five minutes. The gold eye of horus logo imprinted on the front is a cute design touch and the blade is gentle enough not to compromise the soft waxes in my liners. A great buy!

ghd platinum® tropic sky styler – Tash
What it is: A limited edition hairstyler designed to reduce hair breakage, increase shine and maintain constant, even heat from root to tip.
My experience: This is the smoothest hairstyler I have ever used. The curved edges of the tongs make curling effortless and straightening a breeze. The process felt gentler on my hair than other hair tools I have used and after styling my hair, it was noticeably shinier and smoothened. The eclectic design creates a point of interest on your dresser or it can be packed up in the purple heat resistant travel bag and taken on the go!
