The BD team put this hero ingredient to the test.
Mesoestetic Energy C Complex – Caitlin
What it is: An intensive treatment enriched with 10 per cent vitamin C that helps hydrate the skin and protect against free radical damage and premature ageing.
My experience: This serum was not only fun to apply - you press a button to release the encapsulated vitamin C into the flask, shake and then apply to your skin - but also worked wonders. I applied at night, and after just one night, I woke up with a visibly brighter complexion. After a week, my skin looked much better and the very fine lines around my eyes were reduced. I will definitely continue to use for the next three weeks.
Medik8 C-Tetra® Cream – Steph
What it is: A day cream that works to restore radiance, hydrate and protect against everyday environmental factors.
My experience: When this moisturiser landed on my desk I instantly couldn’t wait to try it! This cream claimed to target all of my skin care concerns which are dryness, dullness and brightening for my minor dark-spots plus it also contains Hyaluronic acid – one of my favourite skin care ingredients. Even though the bar was set quite high, the Medik8 C-Tetra® Cream stepped right up! This cream completely melts into skin and absorbs in seconds, while keeping my complexion hydrated all day and improving radiance and dullness. It’s also great to know that this keeps my skin protected against environmental damage – what more could I need?!
Derma E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum – Issy
What it is: A non-oxidizing serum formulated with probiotics, Rooibos and Vitamin C to boost collagen, improve uneven skin tone and minimise the appearance of fine lines.
My experience: This serum is creamy in texture and absorbs nicely into my skin, the subtle hint of orange makes it feel refreshing to apply too. I find this provides a hit of hydration whilst also helping even out and smooth my skin.
Skin Physics Oxygen-C Super Serum Total Anti-Age & Stress Control – Aja
What it is: A facial serum that helps minimise the look of stressed and dull skin, leaving you with a healthy-looking complexion.
My experience: This lightweight serum has helped firm and brighten my tired and lacklustre complexion that winter has left behind. A definite must-have for the colder months.
Mukti Organics Age Defiance Vital C Elixir – Laura
What it is: A Vitamin C serum that protects the face from free radicals and environmental pollution.
My experience: This serum worked so well for me and was a dream to use! It instantly absorbed and left my skin feeling hydrated which was great, especially after the drying effects of winter. I’ll definitely be continuing to use this to maintain my skin’s new brightness and to protect against the elements.
Uspa Pure C Complex Serum – Nadine
What it is: A Vitamin C serum full of antioxidants to fight the signs of ageing and brighten the skin.
My experience: As someone who has never used a serum before i was so excited when the Uspa Pure C Complex landed on my desk. It comes in a lovely little bottle with a decent weight to it, not to mention all the vitamin C in the product makes it smell amazing! I have been using the serum daily for a week (in between my moisturiser and primer in the morning) and already my skin looks brighter and my tone is more even. I am yet to see results on my fine lines but i’m excited too see what happens as I continue to use this in my routine!
Avalon Organics Intense Defense Oil Free Moisturiser – Tash
What it is: A daily, oil-free moisturiser enriched with Vitamin C to protect against environmental aggressors such as pollution and UV.
My experience: I started trialling this product at the perfect time as I was seeking oil-free products that would not break down the glue of my lash extensions. This oil-free moisturiser is silky smooth to apply and absorbs into my skin instantaneously. I use this product morning and night to protect my skin from the city air and to help restore its protective barrier overnight. My skin is left hydrated and energised and I can rest assured there will not be any lash loss.
