Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty was yesterday named one of Time Magazine’s Best Inventions of 2017; but the year of Rihanna is not over yet. The songstress and cosmetic entrepreneur was honoured with three December Vogue Paris covers.
The 29-year-old was also a guest editor on the issue, which saw her lend a hand in choosing the contributors to the mag. One such contributor was stylist Mel Ottenberg, who conceptualised the three editorials.
Speaking on the choice of Rihanna as a cover girl, Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt said: “She’s one of the most emblematic artists of the early 21st century. She’s moved more than 200 million records of her hybrid R&B, dance, rock and reggae-flavored music, provided sartorial surprises from glammed-up streetwear to reworked classics and is driven by an unparalleled desire to succeed.
“Stamped with her trademark bold body art, Rihanna cuts an unusual figure in the celebrity Hall of Fame.”
With covers from Juergen Teller, Inez and Vinoodh and Jean-Paul Goude, each cover is starkly different in aesthetic to the last.
You will be able to see each editorial in the flesh when the Vogue Paris’ December/January issue hits newsstands December 1; but in the meantime, you can see them below.
