While Apple may have announced the introduction of group FaceTime in its iOS 12 update; anyone keen to video chat with their friends only need to update Instagram.
Today, the photo-sharing app announced that it will be rolling out video chatting within Direct messages; allowing you to talk to up to four people at once.
“You can video chat with anyone you have an active Direct thread with,” Instagram explains on its website.
“If you block a person, they will no longer be able to video chat you. You can also mute a person if you don’t want to receive notifications from them. To update your video chat notifications, tap the gear icon on profile and find the new video chat control in Push Notifications.”
Another feature Instagram has rolled out today is adding topic channels to the Explore tab; this will make it easier to find content you might be interested in.
