The BD team give their thoughts on this month's new releases.
Nutrimetics nc Extreme Volume Mascara – Georgie
What it is: Nutrimetics nc Extreme Volume Mascara is a mascara that delivers an intense and volumised lash look. Its jojoba enriched formula hydrates and strengthens lashes, while the unique curved brush coats the lashes for extreme volume and separation.
My experience: Having particularly sensitive eyes means I have a love/hate relationship with mascara. I honestly couldn’t live without it but the discomfort it often causes me, not to mention the plains of black smudges under my eyes, makes mascara one of my ultimate beauty gripes. Thankfully, this product didn’t fall into the the former category. It was gentle on my eyes and the hydrating formula meant that it I had no discomfort or itching. I saw a few little smudges towards the end of the day but suffering from oily skin, this didn’t surprise or put me off. A great everyday product for giving lashes extra length and flattering volume.
Lush Furze Bath Oil – Caitlin
|What it is: A softening bath oil
My experience: I absolutely loved this bath oil! A little cocoa butter ball with extra virgin coconut, neroli and jojoba oil pressed with 3 Amaranth flowers which floats on top of the water once the ball has melted. The scent was subtle, did not stain my bath and made the water feel soft and my skin hydrated. I usually love bath bombs however I will definitely be adding the lush bath oil range into my bath time routine all year round.
Dermalogica BioLumin-C Serum – Laura
What it is: A serum that brightens, firms and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
My experience: I absolutely loved using this vitamin C serum as my skin can become dull and dry during the winter months. I used it religiously both morning and night after cleansing and before my moisturiser and I definitely saw the benefits of this routine. My skin looked brighter and felt much more hydrated - It was like looking at a whole new person!
Medik8 C-Tetra® Eye – Tash
What it is: An anti-ageing eye serum formulated with 100 per cent stable vitamin C and vitamin E, to help smooth fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet.
My experience: This eye serum has arrived just at the right time, in the dead of winter when my face is feeling dehydrated and lined. It is fast-absorbing and powerful but still suitable for my sensitive skin - the antioxidant rich formula has helped to rejuvenate and hydrate my under eye area just when I needed it most!
Ella Baché Botanical Skin Treatment Oil – Zoe
What it is: a 100% natural, Australian made, pure botanical oil that fights free radicals and revitalises, protects, brightens and soothes all skin types.
My experience: Facial oils become such a huge part of my skincare routine in winter and this one was so gorgeous to try. Formulated with hemp and kakadu plum seed oil, a unique berry seed complex, evening primrose oil, jojoba seed oil, ginger root extract and hemp seed oil, these ingredients worked to soothe my skin and leave me glowing. I applied it before makeup to give me the hit of hydration I needed and add a subtle glow; however, it also works to lessen the appearance of acne scarring (which I have an abundance of) and pigmentation, so it was the perfect product for me.
Silver Bullet Titanium 230 IR Elysium Infrared Hair Straightener – Tiarne
What it is: A hair straightener that radiates infrared heat directly into the hair strand with two innovative infrared heat strips.
My experience: I absolutely loved this hair straightener! It was perfect for my thick, frizzy hair and left it looking shiny, smooth and straight all day long. The plates glided super gently and covered a wide base of hair without pulling, which I have experienced in the past. The straightener was also very fast to heat up and I loved that there were heat options ranging from 130°C to 230°C so that I could style my hair depending on what I wanted to achieve on that particular occasion.
