Last week the BD team tried and tested some of August's hottest new releases. Read on to hear our thoughts.
EDITOR'S PICK: BIODERMA Hydrabio Gel Crème – Georgie
What it is: Bioderma Hydrabio Gel Cream is a lightweight moisturiser for normal to combination skin that suffers from dullness and dryness. The gel-cream texture immediately soothes and moisturises while still feeling comfortable, light and fresh on the skin.
My experience: My skin takes exceedingly well to products by any French brand (it must be a European thing) so I was really excited to try this new moisturiser from BIODERMA. I attended the launch event back in July so was fully across the wonderful benefits of the cream and can verify that it lives up to the claims. It’s a very light consistency but also incredibly hydrating, so perfect for both summer and winter. Also, and importantly, it sinks it quickly so is the perfect product if you’re in a rush like I am, every. Single. Morning.
Molton Brown Vetiver & Grapefruit Body Lotion & Shower Gel – Zoë
What it is: Both are body products with distinctive fragrances. The foundations of this fragrance are shared with that of modern architecture, challenging the rules of composition. To interpret the architectural collision of this new fragrance, Molton Brown collaborated with rising designer, Peter Tarka, a specialist in pioneering 3D imagery.
My experience: These two body products are absolutely divine! The earthiness of the vetiver (aka native Indian bunchgrass) surprisingly pairs quite nicely with the zesty grapefruit. The shower gel leaves my skin feeling clean, but not dried out; and the body lotion is extra hydrating and fast absorbing. The extra addition of lychee, floral accents of neroli and rose, spices of white pepper and cardamom left me smelling heavenly all day. These ultra-luxurious products are a new staple.
Blessed by Nature Wild Harvested Organic Rosehip Oil – Jess
What it is: Blessed by Nature Wild Harvested Organic Rosehip Oil is a lightweight but highly nourishing oil that is giving my dry winter skin the moisture kick it needs.
My experience: I was so sick of looking at my skin throughout the day and noticing my makeup looking patchy because of my dry and dehydrated skin. I so prefer the glowy, healthy look to a matte look, and this oil is helping my skin get its moisture back! I use this oil every night before moisturizing, and wake up to skin that is perfectly hydrated. I also mix in a couple of drops with my moisturiser in the morning to give it a lovely boost.
Natio Rosewater and Chamomile Gentle Skin Toner Face Mist – Tash
What it is: A limited-edition face mist featuring Natio’s unique blend of essential oils and botanical extracts.
My experience: This is a beautiful face mist to use as a toner or for a spritz throughout the day. It has a lovely fresh scent and my skin feels more hydrated, calm and balanced, something I struggle with during the winter months. Perfect for use with or without makeup, this is now a luxurious staple in my daily beauty routine.
Nude by Nature Moisture Shine Lipstick – Steph
What it is: An all-natural lipstick that offers bold colour, luminous shine and moisture for the lips.
My experience: I’m usually pretty forgetful when it comes to applying lip balms so having a lipstick that can hydrate my lips while providing great colour is amazing! I also love the fact that it’s all-natural and nasty-free!
