The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced that London Fashion Week will be the first of the global fashion weeks to open its doors to the public.
From September 2019, the event will offer dedicated experiences for both a trade and public audience through one dynamic schedule.
Traditionally, London Fashion Week attracts an audience of press, buyers and industry professionals from all over the globe who attend catwalk shows and presentations in order to discover homegrown and internationally recognised talent. But in response to the ever-changing landscape and the growing public interest towards the industry, the BFC is launching a new format to increase engagement and reach new audiences for creative businesses.
The schedule will now facilitate two audiences. The trade audience will attend on-schedule catwalk shows and presentations across the week, while the public audience will be able to purchase tickets to an immersive experience including ticketed catwalk shows, creative installations, industry-led panels, a DiscoveryLAB and a brand new Designer Exhibition where the creative work of progressive designers will be shown.
The BFC will launch September's London Fashion Week schedule on the LetsBab app, which also allows attendees to receive schedule updates and show start times through notifications on the go.
