Online beauty platform, Cosmetify, has released the results of its 2019 Cosmetify Index which reveals the most popular beauty brands in the world.
The Index takes five major factors into account when collating its data: the increase in consumer interest as shown on Google Trends, the complete brand searches each month, the number of Instagram hashtags and followers, as well as the brand's engagement rate on the social platform.
In Australia, The Body Shop has taken the top spot as most favoured brand with Cosmetify reporting that its annual revenue of $US1.4 billion makes it one of the biggest corporations in the beauty world. Other reasons may be that it hasn't lost its heritage of social activism having taken big steps in fair trade and animal testing while supporting charity projects and working toward human rights and environmental protection.
Taking the global top spot was Huda Beauty, a brand that has experienced a meteoric rise in the last six years.
