Just over a year after finding out that Goop had its eyes set on a Netflix series, the streaming giant in question has released a trailer for the highly-anticipated documentary, which is set to air on January 24.
Titled ‘The Goop Show,’ the six-part series will be co-hosted by Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow and chief content officer Elise Loehen. It will offer an unscripted glimpse into the inner workings of Paltrow’s hugely successful lifestyle empire, covering a range of topics such as energy healing, cold therapy, psychedelics, psychic mediums, sexual health and more.
It’s no secret that Goop has garnered its share of controversy over the years, with critics questioning some of its products and health claims. The brand was even hit with penalties for 'unsubstantiated claims' in the past, however that hasn’t stopped it from seeing worldwide success.
In fact, ‘The Goop Lab’ seems to be embracing its controversial reputation, with Netflix describing the series as "a revelatory look at the boundary-pushing theories that can transform our mental, physical, and emotional wellness." Additionally, Elise Loehen said that what Goop tries to do is “explore ideas that may seem out there or too scary."
