Who: Johanna Johnson
When: 7 pm, April 16. The Runway, Carriageworks.
Hair: Richard Kavanagh for Redken
Hair style: "Johanna Johnson's clothes are beautifully beaded, intricate designs so what we wanted to do is really make the girls feel a lot more rock and roll. We've done this with a nod to the 30s, as well as a bit of a nod to the 60s and 70s. We've created a rock and roll feel through the texture of the hair - it's a little dirty, there's height at the crown, and it's not perfect. We've used Redken Rootful to the hair and hand-dried it in with a bit of dry shampoo just to make it feel lived-in. Every girl has a faux bob - we've done this by pulling the hair into a low ponytail, rolled it up and pinned it underneath. We've finished with the exposed long bobby pins - it's a very achievable element that adds to the shape and accessorises. It's just very cool," says Richard Kavanagh.
Make-up: Carol Mackie for M.A.C
Make-up style: "It's a very polished look - it's classic but with a rock and roll twist. It's elegant and sophisticated with a 30s edge thanks to the faux bob hairstyle. The make-up itself is quite vampy and has 30s appeal in itself. We've got a grease effect on the eye with a gloss on top. We've used a pencil called Feline, which is jet-black, and smouldered it out on the base with a cream colour alongside another pencil called Phone Number. We've also used a mixture to create a crimson lip that gives that really vampy edge to the beauty. The brows are quite soft - we're not adding too much product to them. Similarly with skin care, we just prepped the skin thoroughly, hydrating it with oils and highlighting a little, with very subtle contours. It's really all about the lip and the eye," says Carol Mackie.

Nail look: "Nails are all about glamour - it's feminine but the nail art keeps it fun and funky. We've used a beautiful deep red colour called As You Like It underneath a black V, which runs from the cuticle to the nail's edge. This really adds a bit of edge to the nail look, a bit of sexiness and sass. Johanna's dresses are just so beautiful that we wanted the nails to reflect that sophistication and class. We wanted to create the totally dressed woman," says Karon McKendrick-Taylor.
