Bare Skin
Bare skin continues to rule the runways at Fay, Etro, Kristina Ti and Prada, after also being a common theme on the catwalks of New York and London.
Pat McGrath, the makeup artist at Prada, spoke to Allure about her decision to send models out without makeup:
"We were talking to Mrs. Prada about seduction and how we deal with seduction in today's world, and I know for me, when figuring out the makeup look, the conversation focused on using makeup more as a statement and a mode of self-expression, than as a way to please other people.
It's all done in a very real way. So the girls look very independent and strong, and there's a real freedom to it."
Coloured eyeliner
Eyeliner on the Milan catwalks was either non-existent, painted on thick and black, or bright and colourful. It is the latter that was the most common theme among designers with the likes of Prada, Wunderkind, Byblos and Marco de Vincenzo utilising rainbow shades as liner.
However the award for best usage of coloured liner goes to Mark Carrasquillo at Marco de Vincenzo, as he ended up dipping into over 40 colours backstage, and every model wore a different colour combination.
Hair accessories
Forget the humble hair elastic as Gucci, Dolce & Gabanna and Cristiano Burani have shown us different ways to keep our hair up.
Gucci in particular, parading heavily embellished hair clips and wish-list worthy sweat bands.
Bangs
Bangs are back, and were spotted backstage at Versace, Emporio Armani, Emilio Pucci and, most prominently, Moschino.
Paul Hanlon, hairstylist for Moschino, created wigs for each model with the likes of Bella and Gigi Hadid sporting the look.
