15 years since legendary makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin launched his namesake brand, Kevyn Aucoin Beauty is re-branding to highlight its founder’s legacy with a new, digitally savvy approach.
Coinciding with the brand’s 15th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the Making Faces book, the brand is planning to go full-throttle into its various social media platforms and its relaunched e-commerce site. Notably, the brand will be posting educational materials consisting of illustrated and video tutorials, and digitised pages from Making Faces.
The digital push is also being done with hopes to expose younger consumers to the brand, as CEO of Kevyn Aucoin Beauty Hillary Solomon notes that many youths may not be familiar with the brand or its famous makeup artist.
Finally, there will be the launch of “Team Kevyn” - a social media hashtag that aims to bring together beauty enthusiasts and makeup artists alike.
“The long-term vision for the brand is empowering women to create their own vision of beauty,” Sollomon told WWD, “We’re sitting on archives and libraries of educational content, so this gives us the opportunity to bring everything to life.”
