After spending the past nine years writing about beauty for a range of magazine titles, Erin Whitty is farewelling the publishing industry to make way for creating works of beauty. Winding up her contract at Women’s Health on August 13, Whitty will be focusing her attention on freelance illustration.
The last 12 months has seen Whitty work in an artist capacity for a number of global and local brands including Neutrogena, , , and numerous women’s magazines. She also was responsible for illustrating customers and VIP guests live at The Canberra Centre in Canberra and for Myer at the Randwick Races in Sydney.
“As many of you know, I've worked part time at Pacific Magazines for the last two years while gradually building my business. It's at the point now where it needs much more time and attention and I'm so excited to start painting and drawing full-time,” says Whitty.
“In case I don't catch you before the 13th, I just wanted to say thank you for being such lovely people to work with - I've had an amazing nine years in beauty and will walk away with so many fond memories.”
Whitty’s departure signals the return of Caelia Corse from maternity leave, with Corse stepping back into the position of beauty director on August 11. Corse can be contacted on caelia.corse@pacificmags.com.au or 02 9394 2414.
