Changes in the publishing industry show no signs of slowing down with news of a major merger between News Corp and its publishing arm NewsLifeMedia. The sales for both businesses were combined in May of this year, with further sectors of the companies believed to follow suit.
Senior management changes have accompanied the news – specifically the departure of NewsLifeMedia COO Robin Parkes, following the announcement yesterday that News Corp COO Sharb Farjami is leaving the business. It remains to be seen whether more staff will be affected by the restructure.
But Parkes’ departure will not be immediate, with NewsLifeMedia CEO Nicole Sheffield explaining: “Robin has decided to step back from her full-time role with NewsLifeMedia however she is still engaged with the business. She's a tremendous asset and is contracting on projects."
