After picking up the contract to publish Spirit magazine earlier this month, publishing house Medium Rare is thrilled to announce it has appointed Sarah Maguire as the inflight magazine's new editor.
Currently the travel editor for The Sun-Herald, Maguire has worked at Fairfax Media for the past 10 years in a range of roles including smh.com.au homepage digital producer, The Sun-Herald features editor, and digital producer at Good Weekend and Sunday Life magazines.
“I grew up in Alice Springs, Launceston and Ballarat, and I’ve lived on the north-west coast of Tasmania, Gympie and Noosa. I am from regional Australia. As travel editor for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Sun-Herald, I produced more than 400 travel sections. With my experience and background, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to take QantasLink’s inflight magazine to the next level,” says Maguire.
Medium Rare managing director Gerry Reynolds adds: “Sarah is the ideal editor to oversee the redesign and reformatting of Spirit magazine, which will relaunch as a bimonthly publication from the September 2016 issue.
“Her digital experience also makes her ideally suited to launching a special Spirit section in the Qantas magazine app and for expanding the rural and regional content on travelinsider.com.au, Qantas’ travel inspiration website. We’re very excited to have her join the Medium Rare team.”
