10 things you need to know about Gigi Hadid

She has 1.4 million followers on Instagram, mixes in celebrity circles (that include her boyfriend), and is lining up the high-profile modelling gigs - Gigi Hadid is definitely one name you are about to hear a lot more about.

Here, BD discovers 10 things about the new "it" model you will be seeing everywhere in 2015...

1. Her full name is Jelena Noura Hadid.
2. Hadid was signed with IMG models in 2011 and has been with the agency ever since.
3. She starred in a campaign for Guess when she was just 10 years old. She has since featured in numerous campaigns for the brand, and became the face of Guess Jeans in 2012.
4. The 19-year-old made her Fashion Week debut early 2014 alongside Victoria's Secret angel Candice Swanepoel, walking the Desigual show in February. Since, she has walked for fashion houses Marc Jacobs, Giles, Jean Paul Gaultier and Chanel.
5. She recently acquired a Victoria’s Secret gig, announcing she’s a Victoria’s Secret Pink model on Instagram.
6. She dates Australian singer Cody Simpson and is good friends with Kendall Jenner, with the two frequently posting on social media together.
7. Hadid was recently unveiled as one of the models in the coveted 2015 Pirelli calendar.
8. enlisted Hadid to star in his eyewear campaign, later selecting her to front his fragrance and beauty advertisements which was to pose nude for the Black Orchid fragrance campaign.
9. She was selected as the Sports Illustrated ‘Rookie’ in its annual Swimsuit issue, following the footsteps of Kate Upton and Emily Ratajkowski.
