2016 Bachelorette Georgia Love sat down with BD to chat about her new role as ambassador for Palmer's, and what it takes to look good in front of the lense.
What are the main differences in your beauty/makeup routine when you are on camera?
Camera makeup is very heavy so your skin doesn't breathe much underneath. So when I've been on camera the main difference is that I'll take extra care to really deeply cleanse my skin that night. If or when I'm working on camera day after day, I'll exfoliate every 2-3 days and also make sure I do an enzyme mask at least once a week.
You have such beautiful skin, how do you maintain that lovely glow?
Thank you! It really is about finding products that work for you and sticking to your skincare routine. The word routine can scare people off but it doesn't have to be full on. My daily routine is cleanse, serum and moisture (with SPF) in the morning, then at night remove makeup with facial cleansing oil, cleanse, serum and moisturise. Every 2-3 days I will use a perfecting facial oil at night in place of my moisturiser as it gives my skin an added burst of hydration.
We hear that you have used Palmer's since you were 14! What else was it that attracted you to work with the brand?
Yes, I can't remember a time I didn't have Palmer's Cocoa Butter in my bathroom cupboard! As well as loving and seeing genuine benefits from their products, I strongly believe in the values of the brand, that they ethically source all of their ingredients and are free from harmful or damaging chemicals or additives.
You are very sought after at the moment! How do you pick and choose which events to attend and the companies you collaborate with?
In terms of events, I only go to the ones I'm genuinely excited to attend! I'm very lucky to get invited to amazing things such as fashion festival and musical premieres so I love to get the chance to go to these things, but at the same time I can't and don't want to be out every night. As for collaborations, I have only and will only ever work with companies I have a genuine interest in and love for, such as Palmer's. A false business partnership would never work for either party.
You are a natural on TV. What are your top tips for being in front of the camera?
I really think the biggest thing is confidence in yourself and just forgetting the camera is there! Even in a situation I'm talking directly to camera, if I'm thinking "oh my gosh there are people watching this I'd better not stuff up!" I will get nervous and probably stuff up!! I just think of it as talking to a person - or a strange black machine, at least!
