It seems ninemsn Honey is taking note of Style.com’s plans to transform into an e-commerce platform, with news the Australian fashion and beauty site is introducing an online shopping element.

The e-commerce platform will be interconnected with site content and encompass fashion and beauty, similar to the subjects covered on the female-friendly website.

The online shopping component is expected to appear in months, however no date has yet been set, a Nine spokesperson has confirmed to Adnews.

Honey’s move is similar to Condé Nast’s announcement earlier in the year that Style.com will be transformed into an online shopping haven for the magazine empire.

It’s a trend that seems to be gaining momentum, with more publications looking to e-commerce opportunities as an alternate revenue raiser.
