On February 18th, 2025, L’Oréal Paris took key guests into the L’Oréal Paris Lab to experience the science behind the brand's latest skincare innovations and ingredients.
The event was led by Dr. Richard Betts, L’Oréal scientific director, and Dr. Lee-Mei Yap, local L’Oréal Paris dermatologist.
Guests learned about the revolutionary ingredient Melasyl™ and saw the Australian debut of Episkin – L’Oréal’s pioneering reconstructed skin technology as an ethical alternative to animal testing.
Backed by 18 years of research, Melasyl™ is the revolutionary molecule in the L’Oréal Paris Bright Reveal Serum, offering an inclusive solution to target the widespread concern of localised pigmentation that leads to dark spots and post-acne marks while respecting each person’s natural skin tone.
"When we clinically tested Melasyl™ against 13 other anti-pigmentation actives, we saw clear superiority for Melasyl™ versus all others in preventing pigmentation across different skin tones," said Dr. Betts.
Unlike many traditional anti-pigmentation ingredients that can lighten surrounding skin, Melasyl™ precisely targets excess melanin, the pigment responsible for dark spots, without altering the natural skin tone.
