Who: Hansen & Gretel
When: 2:00pm, May 16, Carriageworks

Hair: Marie Cain for Redken
Hair look:
"The inspo for Hansen & Gretel is that Chloe girl - the really effortless French girl. It’s all about celebrating their individuality and their hair’s individual texture. Not every girl is going to walk down the runway looking the same, but I think we’ve got some unique looking characters with their own thing going on. We’re working on making sure that the hair is quite matte, with a chalky texture but still keeping it beachy and light. It’s still beautiful and glamorous but it’s not glam in the typical sense. A lot of the girls in the show will have curl in their hair and that’s just because we want their natural texture to be the highlight. So we’re working through the prep with the Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry spray to give the hair some playability, but the hero product today is the Rootful 06 on the roots, and their we’re using the Fashion Waves that has a light-to-medium hold. Then we’re doing loose ‘S’ curls in the hair on a low heat and we’re finishing it off with Wind Blown Hairspray.”

Makeup: Panda Peng for shu uemura
Makeup look:
“Hansen & Gretel gave us the brief that they wanted a glowy look but using no illuminator, shimmer or highlighter - but it also couldn’t be matte. So we used our products that give the skin a natural glow; for example, we started with our Cleansing Oil because as Mr. Shu Uemura once said ‘Beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin.’ It’s all about enhancing the girl's features and covering the imperfections. The hero product for this look is the Skin Perfector Oil, you can’t see the oil on the skin but once you put the foundation on it gives the skin a really beautiful natural glow. Second thing we use is our Lightbulb Foundation which is macadamia oil based, this ensures their skin glows under any light. So this is how we’ve achieved a beautiful glowing face without any shimmer or illuminator. We used a lipstick on the cheek to continue creating that wet look - our Rouge Unlimited Lipstick. On the lip it’s purely just our lip balm to give that hydration and the white lining over the lip to finish the look.”

Nail look: The collection was fun flirty and definitely tropical – Gidget on Safari. With Leopard print and the quintessential Hawaiian floral print featured throughout the collection, nails were kept to the minimum. Starting with a FABY Base coat, to give depth, the models wore 3 coats of a sheer nude, Everything You Touch by FABY.
