Who: Pageant
When: 4:00pm, May 16, Carriageworks
Hair: Byron Turnbull for Kevin Murphy
Hair look:
“We went through the collection and thought about what type of hairstyle would suit the clothes the most. One of the colour themes is orange so we wanted to incorporate that into the hair without it being overwhelming. We also wanted an active style that’s runway worthy. We came up with the idea of using elastic in the hair that would give it that stop and start feel. We’ve got three different panels that are all going in different directions that contain the elastics and then throughout the ends we’ve used a contrasting colour, black for the blondes and white for the brunettes. Black and white are actually the colour of the trimmings on the clothes. For the girls that have wiry hair we’ve used Kevin Murphy Easy. Rider and blow dried that in. We’ve been using Kevin Murphy Session.Spray to hold the style but the hero product for today is Kevin Murphy Shimmer.Shine which is giving us that almost wet look but still keeping the hair dry and runway worthy."

Makeup look:
“The inspiration for the Pageant collection came from The Cave Clan who were a group of urban explorers from the 1980s. So we took elements of graffiti and created a yellow spray effect on the eye but kept it quite powdery. To achieve that we used a yellow pigment by M.A.C called Rocket Yellow. The skin is very fresh and dewy – there’s quite a sporty vibe to the clothes and we wanted to keep it quite youthful and makeup free so we used a lot of beautiful oils to prep the skin. This included M.A.C Careblend Essential Oils that we really massaged into the face and then we covered the lips in lots of gloss to keep them really hydrated and fresh.”
