Former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, Carine Roitfeld, has announced her latest creative venture: a line of seven genderless fragrances.
In a typical romantic, Parisian fashion, each of the seven scents in her namesake Carine Roitfeld Perfumes collection is inspired by seven imaginary lovers from different parts of the world.
"Whether you prefer flowery London or the spiciness of Buenos Aires, there’s a scent in our edit for everyone," reads a description for the collection on Net-a-Porter, where the range will be sold from May 6 this year.
Speaking to The New York Times, Roitfeld said: “I did a lot of collaborations, a lot of magazines, but it was always something transient. But for me, perfume is a way to have a legacy. Like Miss Chanel. Chanel No. 5 has been around for almost 100 years.”
The launch of Carine Roitfeld Perfumes was announced in Paris last week via 4,000 posters portraying Roitfeld nude, looking out a window and making a peace sign with one hand.
According to The New York Times, Roitfeld hopes the perfumes will be the beginning of a long line of products that will perpetuate her personal brand and legacy.
