Cartier and Prada are both looking to expand their scent portfolio and consumer base with the launch of their latest fragrances.
Cartier’s Baiser Volé fragrance for women has ambitions to become a pillar in the brand’s scent portfolio, WWD reports. According to Coralie de Fontenay, managing director, world fragrance at Parfums Cartier, the aim for Baiser Volé (which translates to Stolen Kiss in English) is to see Cartier ranked among the world’s top 25 fragrance brands.
Meanwhile Prada has given consumers a sneak peek into its newest fragrance Candy, which is due out in September. Looking very youthful by Prada standards, even chief brand officer of Puig, Prada’s scent licensee, José Manuel Albesa admits the scent is something completely different from what we’ve been doing until now … this scent is more feminine and more excessive than past launches. It has an explosion of joie de vivre that is quite unique for us, and uses a lot more colour, including an outer packaging with a drawing.”
In other fragrance news, Balmain has signed a 12-year worldwide fragrance license agreement with Inter Parfums SA, which will commence on January 1, 2012. The new agreement gives Inter Parfums the right to create, produce and distribute perfumes and ancillary products under the Balmain brand.
Balmain represents a unique brand in today’s world of fashion,” said Phillipe Benacin, CEO of Inter Parfums SA. The creative choices and original and high-prestige style developed through its different collections provide a strong basis for differentiation in preparing for our future launches under the brand.”
