Aveda is the official hair partner for David Jones Autumn Winter 2018. The collection was shown at The Locamotive Workshop in Eveleigh with an all star line up including David Jones ambassadors Jessica Gomes and newly signed, Victoria Lee. Here's an overview of the hair look.

"We got a brief from David Jones which was 'Strong Beauty' so we wanted the girls to look individual, like themselves. The David Jones collections are edgier this year, very couture, so when I saw that, I thought the hair look has to become couture as well.
I went and investigated the couture shows that have just happen in Europe and the looks from those runways revealed that things have got a lot smaller around the face and head, then there's a juxtaposition with volume somewhere else. So today's look will be very tight around the hairline. Once we have the ponytail in place we then tuck the front strands behind the ear but pull out the hair on each side of the elastic which creates a really unusual volume. The ponytail in contrast really helps elongate the models' neck.
We found some belt elastic in a fabric store which is quite structural. When you place it in the ponytail and pull it tight it creates some really interesting shapes. As the collection is so couture, I really wanted to go all-out Chanel, Givenchy, Dior. We just had to go there!"
