With an Instagram following of 93,500, a booming blog and a number of cookbooks to her name, Lola Berry is a favourite of the wellbeing set. The self-proclaimed ‘quirky nature hippie and yoga teacher’ recently shared her advice for a balanced life with The Conscious Collective.
On her philosophy about food, she explains: “I think we really beat ourselves up about it; when it’s so much simpler. Eat food that nourishes you and share it with souls you love.”
The passionate yogi had a few choice words of advice for maintaining motivation to exercise, especially while the weather isn’t at its warmest. She encourages: “Well, first up, don’t be too hard on yourself. Secondly, go for what makes you feel good - feeling good is the key and that’s the aim. [And finally], listen to your body; you might crave more warming foods, give your body seasonal foods.”
Renowned for her vegetable-based diet, Berry revealed her top three foods are avocado, chillies, and good-quality extra virgin olive oil. She also incorporates the oil into her beauty routine: “I use it in the kitchen and the bathroom, so I have one for my hair and skin, then another for my cooking and foodie creations.”
Despite being the inspiration for thousands around the globe, Berry says she is personally inspired by “anyone who is living their truth”. This was alongside her father: “He’s always believed in me and told me to ‘keep kicking goals, girl.’”
